Matthew Bishop CFP®

Matthew G Bishop proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1990-2001, flying E/F-111 and T-38 aircraft.
He completed two tours of duty patrolling the No-Fly Zone over Iraq, and he also served as an Instructor
Pilot and Executive Officer to a Training Wing Commander. Matt attained the rank of Major before his
career change to the financial services industry.

Matt began his Financial Advisor role in Midland with A.G. Edwards in 2001. In 2007, Matt completed
the education requirements, all areas of coursework, a two-day examination, and an Ethics component
to obtain his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification. He transitioned to Benjamin F. Edwards in
2013, and he has risen to the position of Managing Director – Investments. To assist his clients, Matt
leverages his military background while building strong relationships with disciplined, goal-oriented
clients.

Matt has served as a board member of the Midland Area Chamber of Commerce, CBM Services Inc., and
is a past-president of the Midland County MSU Alumni Club. He is also a Leadership Midland 2003
graduate (“It's A Gift!”) and is a Leadership Midland Alumni Association member.

Matt graduated from Michigan State in 1989 and earned a Masters Degree from Texas Tech in 1993. He
has three children and is passionate about sports, music, and fitness. Matt was raised in Frankenmuth,
and he has lived in Midland since 2001.
